You have granular control over what each couple sees in their portal. Nothing is visible by default — you choose what to share.
Nothing is shared by default
When the portal is first set up for a wedding, the couple's view is blank. They can log in but will not see any modules, documents, quotes or invoices until you enable each one. This prevents accidental data sharing and lets you build up the portal at the right pace in the planning process.
Module visibility
Each module on the wedding has its own portal visibility toggle. To share a module with the couple:
- Open the wedding record and find the module in the Modules section.
- Click the module's settings and toggle Show in Portal to on.
- The couple will see the module's content next time they open their portal.
Only modules with a portal display function will show content — if a module has no portal content configured, enabling visibility will have no visible effect.
Quotes and invoices
Each quote and invoice has its own Show in Portal toggle in the document settings. Enable it when you are ready for the couple to see that document. You might, for example, share a quote immediately when it is sent, but only share an invoice when the event is confirmed.
Grouped line items have an additional Show Nested option — when enabled, the couple sees the individual items within a group rather than just the group total.
Message Centre
The Message Centre is enabled or disabled per wedding via the Messages Enabled checkbox on the wedding's edit page. When disabled, the Messages section does not appear in the couple's portal at all. Enable it when you are ready to open a channel of communication with the couple.
Files
Files uploaded to the wedding's Files tab are not visible to the couple by default. Each file has its own visibility toggle — enable it to share with the couple, disable it to hide it again. See Uploading and managing files for more detail.
