The Message Centre gives each wedding a dedicated conversation thread shared between your team and the couple. All messages stay in context — attached to the wedding, not lost in email.
Enabling messages
Messages are on by default for all new weddings. If for any reason they are disabled, go to Edit Wedding and tick Messages Enabled. When messages are disabled, the Messages section does not appear in the portal at all — the couple will not know it exists.
Sending from the dashboard
Open the wedding record and click the Messages tab. Type your message in the text area at the bottom and click Send. Your message appears in the thread immediately, timestamped with your name. All team members who have access to the wedding can see all messages.
There are no attachments in the Message Centre — if you need to share a file, upload it in the Files tab and enable portal visibility.
How couples reply
The couple logs into their portal via their magic link and navigates to the Messages section. They type a reply and hit send — it appears back in the thread on the wedding record in Weddinguru. Your team will see it the next time they view the Messages tab (there are no push notifications). Check the thread regularly during active planning periods.
Permanent record
Messages cannot be edited or deleted after sending. This gives you and the couple a clear, immutable record of all communications — useful if there is ever a dispute about what was agreed or discussed.
