The Order of the Day module is a chronological timeline of the wedding day. It is purely informational — there are no billing items. The timeline can be shared with the couple via the portal so they know exactly what to expect on the day.
Overview
Add the Order of the Day module from the Modules section on the wedding record. Once added, a schedule is created for the wedding. You then add individual items to build out the day's timeline.
The schedule
The schedule has a title (defaulting to "Order of the Day"), the wedding date, an optional venue name, and general notes. All the timeline items sit within this schedule.
Schedule items
Each item on the timeline has:
- Name — the event name (e.g. "Guests Arrive", "Wedding Ceremony", "First Dance")
- Event type — categorises the moment; see below
- Start time and End time — in 24-hour format, e.g.
14:00 - Duration — in minutes (optional)
- Location — where this part of the day takes place
- Description — additional detail shown to the couple in the portal
- Responsible person — the team member or supplier leading this moment
- Notes — internal planning notes, not shared in the portal
- Portal visibility — whether this item appears in the couple's portal view
Items are sorted by sort order and then by start time.
Event types
Event types help categorise each timeline item:
- Guest Arrival, Ceremony, Drinks Reception, Group Photos
- Wedding Breakfast, Speeches & Toasts, Cake Cutting
- First Dance, Evening Reception, Entertainment, Food Service
- Bouquet Toss, Send Off / Departure, Break / Changeover, Other
Portal visibility
When the Order of the Day module is enabled for portal visibility, the couple sees the full timeline. Each individual item has its own portal visibility toggle — you can hide items that are for the team's eyes only (such as setup and coordination notes) while sharing the main schedule with the couple. Internal notes on each item are never shown in the portal regardless of the visibility toggle.
