The Message Centre gives each wedding its own conversation thread, shared between your team and the couple. All communication stays in context — attached to the wedding, not buried in a general inbox.
What the Message Centre is
Every wedding has a Messages tab. When enabled, this provides a chronological conversation thread between your team and the couple. Both sides can send messages; all messages are visible to all team members who have access to the wedding.
The couple sees their messages in the Messages section of their portal. They can reply from there.
Enabling messages on a wedding
Messages are enabled by default on all new weddings. If needed (e.g. for very old or archived bookings), you can toggle messages off. Go to Edit Wedding and uncheck the Messages Enabled checkbox. When disabled, the Messages tab is hidden from the portal and your team.
To re-enable, check the box again and save.
Sending a message
Open the wedding record and click the Messages tab. Type your message in the text box at the bottom and click Send. Your message will appear in the thread immediately and will be visible to the couple next time they log into their portal.
There are no automated email notifications to couples when a new message is sent — they will see it when they next open their portal. If a message is urgent, consider following up with a direct email or phone call.
How couples reply
The couple logs into their portal using their magic link, navigates to the Messages section, types a reply and sends it. The reply appears in the Messages tab on the wedding record in Weddinguru. There is no push notification to your team — check the Messages tab regularly for new replies.
Message storage
All messages are permanently stored on the wedding record. They cannot be deleted. This provides a complete audit trail of all communications with the couple, which is useful in the event of a dispute.
