Weddinguru uses time-based one-time password (TOTP) two-factor authentication on every account. This guide explains how to log in and how to set up 2FA for the first time.
Logging in
Go to your Weddinguru login page and enter your username and password. These are set by your admin when your account is created — you will receive a welcome email with your username and a temporary password if your account has email configured.
If you have not received a welcome email, ask your admin to confirm your username and provide your initial password directly.
Setting up 2FA on first login
On your first login you will be redirected to the 2FA setup page. You cannot access any part of the system until 2FA is configured.
- Download an authenticator app on your phone if you don't already have one. Weddinguru works with any standard TOTP app:
- Google Authenticator (iOS / Android)
- Microsoft Authenticator (iOS / Android)
- Authy (iOS / Android / desktop)
- 1Password, Bitwarden (if you use a password manager with TOTP support)
- Scan the QR code shown on the setup page with your authenticator app. The app will add a new entry labelled "Weddinguru".
- Enter the 6-digit code shown in the app. The code refreshes every 30 seconds — if it is about to expire, wait for the next one.
- Click Confirm. Your 2FA is now active.
Once confirmed, you are taken to the dashboard. You will not need to scan the QR code again.
Using 2FA on subsequent logins
After your initial setup, every login requires two steps:
- Enter your username and password — click Log In.
- Open your authenticator app, find the Weddinguru entry, and enter the current 6-digit code.
The code window allows for a small amount of clock drift — if a code is rejected, ensure your phone's time is set to automatic/network time and try again.
Lost access to your authenticator?
If you have lost your phone or deleted the authenticator app, you cannot log in without admin help. Ask your account admin to reset your 2FA from the Users section. Once reset, your next login will take you through the QR code setup flow again.
To avoid being locked out, we recommend storing backup codes from your authenticator app when you first set it up — most apps provide an option to export or save backup codes during the setup process.
