The couple record is the foundation of everything in Weddinguru. Weddings, billing, portal access and communications all link back to it.
Adding a couple
Go to Couples → Add Couple. The form is divided into Partner 1 (required) and Partner 2 (optional).
Partner details
For each partner, you can record:
- Title — optional (Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss, Dr, Mx, etc.)
- First name — required for Partner 1
- Surname — required for Partner 1
- Email address — used for portal magic link requests; both partners' email addresses can access the portal
- Phone number
Partner 2 is entirely optional. If only one partner will be dealing with your venue, you only need to fill in Partner 1's details.
Address
The address fields (address line 1, line 2, city, postcode, country) are optional at the couple level. They are primarily used if you need to post physical documents. Address information from the couple record can be used to pre-fill correspondence.
Couple status
Couples have three statuses:
- Active — default; the couple has at least one active wedding in progress
- Inactive — the couple is on hold or no longer actively planning
- Completed — all their weddings have taken place
Couple status is separate from wedding status. You can have an Active couple with a wedding in Enquiry status, or a Completed couple with multiple Completed weddings.
One couple, multiple weddings
A couple can have more than one wedding record — for example, a civil ceremony and a separate reception held on different days, or a couple who rebook a private dining event after their wedding. Each wedding is managed independently but stays linked to the same couple record, keeping all portal access, messages and billing history in one place.
